; Graduates of this master’s programme will have acquired the following knowledge and skills: etc.). – Research methodologies currently being used in the visual arts (painting, drawing, sculpture, design, – Life drawing as a system for the development of thought and knowledge. – The origin and evolution of scientific drawing. – The most important children’s illustrators in history and their main works. – The current panorama of international children’s illustration, specifically in Spain. – The history of drawing, design and engraving, and current trends. – New forms of creation using technology. – Geometric and perspective concepts from a contemporary point of view.; – The syntactic and semantic relationship between image and text. – The implications of multiplicity in artistic creation. – Requirements of the audiovisual creative process, from pre-production to post-production and the importance of the image as a bearer of precise moments of reality, and expression techniques according to each period. – The sensorial relationship between music and image. – The language of drawing through geometry. – The connection between the fields of geometric drawing, systems of representation and perspective. – How to develop a methodological approach that is suited to the research topic students will address in their supervised research work and, subsequently, in their doctoral thesis.; – How to identify similarities and study interrelationships between the means and forms of communication in drawing and other artistic expressions. – How to exercise the professional profile of the draughtsperson – How to develop an audiovisual work, understanding this process as an artistic and reflection tool in which diverse artistic languages are employed – How to use basic techniques in the creation of children’s illustrations – How to design an illustrated album in all its aspects; – How to develop a projection method in line with the interest of the student – How to realise project ideas with current graphic tools – The creative integration of different photomechanical and digital processes.; – How to formally analyse new media used in drawing, subsequently presenting and disseminating them. – How to represent mental processes through drawing. – How to draw on an archaeological site and the role of drawing in heritage conservation. – How to create scientific and informative illustrations and animations. – How to draw cultural heritage relating to architecture, works of art and archaeological remains. – How to use specific advanced software in the audiovisual creation process. – How to use interdisciplinary new technologies in artistic production. – How to draw comics and the function of graphic narrative in the media.


Students that have completed the second cycle have the following competencies: – Have demonstrated knowledge and understanding that is founded upon a basis or opportunity for originality in developing and/or applying ideas, often within a research context. – Can apply their acquired knowledge and understanding, and problem solving abilities in new or unfamiliar environments within broader (or multidisciplinary) contexts related to their field of study. – Have the ability to integrate knowledge and handle complexity, and formulate judgments with incomplete or limited information, but that include reflecting on social and ethical responsibilities linked to the application of their knowledge and judgments. – Can communicate their conclusions, and the knowledge and rationale underpinning these, to specialist and non-specialist audiences clearly and unambiguously. – Have the learning skills to allow them to continue to study in a manner that may be largely self-directed or autonomous.

Admission information

Access to Master’s Degree programmes is granted to holders of:
A.1. A Spanish official university degree.
A.2. A degree issued by a Higher Education institution from another European Higher Education Area Member State which allows access to Master Degree’s programmes in that State.
A.3. A degree from a non-EHEA education system, upon verification by the Spanish University that the aforementioned degree accredits an equivalent education level to that of a Spanish university degree and allows access to postgraduate programmes in the issuing country.
A.4. A Spanish Bachelor in Advanced Artistic Education.
A.5. Official Spanish university degrees of Diplomado, Arquitecto Técnico, Ingeniero Técnico, Licenciado, Arquitecto, Ingeniero, Graduado or Máster Universitario.

General regulations

Grading scale
In the Spanish university system, modules/courses are graded on a scale of 0 to 10 points with the following qualitative equivalence:
0-4,9: «suspenso»; 5-6,9: «aprobado»; 7-8,9: «notable»; 9-10: «sobresaliente». A special mention, «Matrícula de Honor» may be granted to up to 5% of the students in a group provided they have got a «sobresaliente». To pass a module/course is necessary to get at least 5 points.
In cases of recognition of ECTS, professional experience, cultural or sports activities, or student representation no grading will be recorded but, where appropriate, the word «Apto».
